Jan Gillies

Jan Gillies was born in California, grew up in the swamps of Northern Indiana, and spent several years as a sailor crewing research expeditions off South Florida, the Bahamas, and South America, before making her way to the mountains of West Virginia. Music has been a common thread throughout Jan’s life, from her early beginnings working the record department at Value City to her time at sea; from being a Hospice director to a singing science teacher. Her songs are inspired by her experiences and the people (and animals!) she’s met along the way.
