John R. Miller grew up in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia, where the mountains meet Interstate 81. A co-founding member and songwriter for well-traveled bands The Fox Hunt and Prison Book Club, he has performed his songs across the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, Japan, and Europe. He has made several appearances on NPR’s Mountain Stage with Larry Groce, has been a featured songwriter and performer on the Travelin’ Appalachians Revue.

His music has been recently described as “a mix of dirty country and Appalachian string band racket that’s raw and real,” [Saving Country Music] and his song “Coming Down” was covered by Kentucky artist Tyler Childers on his album Live at Red Barn I & II. He self-released a solo album Service Engine in 2014, and his most recent full-band effort, The Trouble You Follow, was released in 2018 via Lexington, KY’s Emperor Records . Having recently relocated to the Nashville, TN area, John continues to write and tour most of the year.

As Locust Honey, Chloe Edmonstone and Meredith Watson have spent nearly a decade weaving their experience in old time, bluegrass, and pre-war blues into the core of their sound. Their original songs, as well as their take on traditional tunes, ride on lively arrangements, close vocal harmony, fiddle, guitar, and banjo. With the release of their 3 rd album, The Low and Low, Locust Honey has taken a leap into new territory, integrating drums, electric guitars, and even organ into the mix, exploring new sonic worlds and darker lyrical themes.
