We serve the area's finest selection of sandwiches, wraps, organic coffee,

espresso, teas, homemade ice cream & desserts, plus local wine & WV's largest beer selection. In addition, we offer a small collection of eclectic gifts, souvenirs, and CD's for purchase, as well as reading material, a movie library and games for customer enjoyment.

The Purple Fiddle Coffeehouse and Mountain Market is a family-friendly and non-smoking music venue, cafe and coffeehouse. We are located in the old DePollo General Store in historic Thomas, WV, in the beautiful Allegheny mountains. Every week, and always on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, the Purple Fiddle presents a professional, traveling high-quality act.

Our music lineup is diverse. We play host to oldtime and traditional bands, but also spread our wings with rock n' roll, jazz, funk, reggae, old-country, blues, Celtic, folk, and even Latin bands. We collect a cover charge at the door that goes to pay for the bands, most of which are traveling and playing nationally.

We always welcome families to bring their children to the shows no matter what their age. (Children under 12 are admitted free, with few noted exceptions.) We believe the warm crowd and amazing acoustic music is an extremely positive and nurturing environment for all.

We are proud of the fact that our store is a safe and supportive environment for them and their friends across all ages. Being non-smoking and child-friendly was a commitment we made early on.

In addition to wildly entertaining music, kids will be sure to find something to wholesomely occupy their time. We have books, games, protected internet access, puzzles, and art stuff for all.

The Purple Fiddle lies near the heart of the West Virginia tourism

activity. We are located just 1 mile from Thomas' MountainMade.Com artisan gallery, 3 miles north of Blackwater Falls State Park, 10 miles north of Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge, 13 miles north of Canaan Valley State Park, and just beyond that is Dolly Sods National Wilderness Area. Another 30 minute drive and you reach Seneca Rocks. We boast of being located at the head of a new rail-trail that connects Thomas with Elkins--an incredible 30-mile downhill journey through the Blackwater Canyon.
