“Dan is a very gifted (finger-style) guitarist and has a true musical mind and heart. The audience loved his set and I was equally impressed with his performance! I see an ever promising future for Dan as he is top notch in his field of guitar playing.” – Guitarist Phil Keaggy

Soulful. Genuine. Refreshing. These are the words most used in describing Dan Bankhurst and his unique approach to music. With roots in rock, blues, soul, funk, and jazz, the popular, Nashville-based guitarist taps into these influences in bringing a new facet (and groove) to traditional and contemporary fingerstyle guitar playing.

Considered one of the most talented, promising, and original young guitarists performing today, Dan has shared the stage with many of the best fingerstyle guitarists on the planet including Phil Keaggy, Muriel Anderson, Jim Nichols, Thom Bresh, John Knowles, Brent Mason, Johnny Hiland, and the late Pete Huttlinger (who produced Dan’s critically-acclaimed first CD, “At First Sight” in 2013). Dan’s second acclaimed solo CD, “Tradition Pickin,’” was released in 2015 and paid tribute to the Mount Rushmore of Fingerpicking Masters: Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, and Jerry Reed.

Dan, who won the International Home of the Legends Thumbpicking Competition in 2013 (along with a new Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar), has performed repeatedly at the annual Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention, appeared at the Chet Atkins Tribute Show in Nashville in 2014, and was recently invited to showcase his fingerpicking talents on Steve Krenz’s Gibson’s Learn & Master Guitar Series, and gave a special fingerstyle guitar demonstration at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Dan’s popularity as a performer continues to grow as audiences across the country and in Europe discover his appealing blend of superb musicianship, a wide range of styles, and a warm, likeable, engaging stage presence that easily connects with people of all ages.
