“Their Country and Americana sound is nothing short of intoxicating” (Hits In The Sticks)

“These guys sound like a mature bottle of wine.” – Claire Cavanagh, BBC Radio Bristol

“It certainly touched my heart.” – Sam Bonham, BBC 6 Music

Robert Jackson’s songs tell tails of adventure, bitter romance, and synchronicity with “thought provoking, well crafted lyrics” (Gordon Giltrap) and a “strong, soulful voice” (FATEA magazine).

A Different Thread brings together three unexpected collaborators: Robert Jackson, a singer-songwriter from Lichfield Staffordshire, Isaac Collier, a classically trained cellist from the Yorkshire Moors, and Alicia Best a fiddle player from North Carolina.

Together the trio play what they are calling “British-Americana” pulling from old American and British traditional music alike, weaving together aspects of country and blues with hints of bluegrass, they have their own contemporary take on what Americana music is. Robert and Alicia’s tight harmonies harken back to ages past, while Isaac’s cello lifts their music up with an impulsive edge.
