Abigail Lapell is a Canadian folk-noir singer-songwriter based in Toronto. A fluid lyricist and multi-instrumentalist, Lapell draws freely from folk-roots, indie and punk-rock traditions. Her story-songs are unapologetic and unguarded, carried by the sound of her wintry voice, piano, harmonica and finger style guitar. Likened to such greats as Will Oldham and Gillian Welch, Lapell’s performance is passionate and sentimental without being maudlin. She will release her sophomore album, Hide Nor Hair, in early 2017.

Dana Sipos’ songwriting is infused with a surrealism influenced by the supernatural experiences of Canada’s high country. A true songsmith and a songwriter’s songwriter, Sipos creates nuanced songs that are hauntingly hopeful and captivatingly calm, yet filled with a wild wind. Sipos has toured in recent years by tall ship, bicycle and canoe. Her 2015 album Roll Up the Night Sky was recorded in the home studio of Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire over a cold Montreal winter and released on Nashville underground label Muddy Roots Music Recordings. The album received critical acclaim and was nominated for a 2015 Canadian Folk Music Award in the Pushing the Boundaries category.
