Andrew began playing guitar at the age of 6, and his father had shown him a few chords. He had never taken any lessons, and would sit in his room night after night, listening to recordings of his favorite artists and would learn it all, by ear. As a teenager he entered his high school talent show, performing the song “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry and received 1st place.
3 years later he would be opening up for the great Dr. Ralph Stanley of The Stanley Brothers in Newport, Kentucky. Andrew released his 1st studio album “Foot In The Door” at just 17 years old. His 1st album had 7 original songs on it, recorded at Moonlight Studios in Fairfield, OH. Andrew’s talent has taken him all over the United States.
Once you listen to his songs, you will understand that he is also a poet. Whether it’s playing tribute to the classics like Bob Dylan or Chet Atkins, or his own craft that can match his musical mentors, Andrew Hibbard is sure to be a delightful, and intoxicating mystery to any Americana/Folk fan’s ears and a presence destined for placement in the spotlight.
