Chestnut Grove is a roots rock, folk & roll band from Perkiomenville, PA. Home grown, just a stone’s throw away from the Old Pool Farm, home of the legendary Philadelphia Folk Festival, the members of Chestnut Grove have been soaking up the soul of American roots music since their inception in 2011. They are currently spreading their brand of blues, folk, and rock & roll across the east coast with their inaugural self-produced full length album, “Perkiomenville”, and EPs, “Old Tin Road” and “Outside the Show”. The band’s live show is akin to a rock & roll circus in which members; Dee, Jim Daniels, Gary Geers, John Plasterer, and Zachary Winkler use their versatility to execute a five-man-weave. Sharing different musical roles throughout the show, Chestnut Grove leaves every audience they play for dancing till the morning.

Chestnut Grove released there self-produced EP “Old Tin Road” in May of 2013. The record features original songs like “Danger Man” which captures a natural rhythm and blues sound and mindful lyrical balance. The 2013 release also features heavier psychedelic songs like “Johnny Guitar” and “Slide Tide” filled with fuzzy guitar riffs and incredible breakdowns. Summer 2013 the band performed at music festivals like Opple Topple, Mountain Folk and Roots Festival (JibberJazzproductions), and Boogie in The Bungalow just to name a few with bands like The Felice Brothers, The Ryan Montblaeu Band, Yarn, Aqueous, The Dirk Quinn Band, The Tumbling Bones and many more. The bands sophomore EP release “Outside The Show” is scheduled to be released March 28th at Chaplin’s in Spring City, Pennsylvania. Unlike the last record “Old Tin Road” which consisted of a fuzzy blues sound and minimal vocal dynamic(meaning Just Dee sang). “Outside The Show” showcases more of an early 60’s rock and roll, a touch of Folk and Roots with a large growth in vocal dynamic. Songs like ” You still Don’t Know” sung and written by Gary Geers and James Bowers brings two completely new voices to the band. “Sorrow” sung and written by crowd favorite Dee shows a soft and gut-wrenching side to the band. topping off the record are “Whole Lotta Loin” and ” I Don’t Mind” two classic shaking and dancing songs much like “Long Tall Sally” and “Johnny B. Good.”
