Gilbert Lee is an eclectic singer-songwriter from Cumberland, MD, USA. Since 2016, he’s independently released several singles, EP’s, and albums including the critically praised Magic Through the Static (2017), which has been celebrated as “a delicious collection of alt-pop” (HuffPost); “inviting and enchanting, warming the soul” (Music-News.com); while “showcasing a melodic vein of pop that recalls Brian Wilson” (Obscure Sound). A reviewer for HuffPost (2017) described Gilbert Lee’s voice as “wonderfully clear and rich… vaguely reminiscent of Paul Simon’s, but brighter and more lavish,” while the Music Street Journal (2018) described the versatility of his songwriting, noting similarities to a wide range of classic artists from The Beatles to Sade. Gilbert Lee’s music features significant contributions from producer and multi-instrumentalist, D. Shank, and award-winning violinist Hanna Livingston (whose contributions are especially noticeable on tracks such as Appalachian Rain, Carry on the Western Soul, and their most recent release, When the Silence Breaks). The trio often performs together under the unofficial moniker, The Ghost on the Radio, which is also the title of one of Gilbert Lee’s songs.
