Mr. Husband

Kenny Tompkins aka Mr. Husband is a prolific songwriter and producer who hails from the Cabins WV, a tiny river community on the North Fork of the Potomac in the Eastern Panhandle. Joined by a close knit group of friends and family he has been making Twangy, laid-back, psychedelic indie-rock tinged with Soul and Classic Country since 2015. He has released numerous albums on several noteworthy labels including Yellow K, Human Sounds, Forged Artifacts, and PIAPTK. In 2021 he released an mini-album called “West Virginia” a collection of songs dedicated to his time growing up in the state which received some critical attention and praise.
His band features drummer Chris Morris (Cotton Jones / Michael Nau), Adam Laye on steel and guitar, and Kenny’s brother Curt Tompkins who plays bass while singing in tight sibling harmony. They are currently working on their 10th album while playing shows on the East coast and hope to release a string of new singles in 2026. Mr. Husband will perform material from “West Virginia” along with many other highlights from their catalog when they make their debut at The Purple Fiddle on Nov. 6th.
