Philip Bowen is an Appalachian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music blends folk, Americana, and roots storytelling with high-energy fiddle. Born and raised in West Virginia, he began playing fiddle at age four and quickly developed a deep connection to the musical traditions of Appalachia.
Bowen first built a loyal audience through his electrifying live performances and viral online presence, amassing more than 1.5 million fans and followers across social platforms. His momentum accelerated after winning TikTok’s Greatest Talent competition and performing on legendary stages including The Bluebird Café, 3rd & Lindsley, and NPR’s Mountain Stage.
In 2023, Bowen released his debut album Old Kanawha, earning recognition across the Americana community and appearing at AmericanaFest. The same year he reached the semifinals of America’s Got Talent (Season 18) and shared stages with artists such as Darius Rucker, 49 Winchester, Wyatt Flores, Ian Munsick, Charles Wesley Godwin, and Josiah and the Bonnevilles.
An in-demand session player with hundreds of recording credits, Bowen has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Noah Kahan, Zandi Holup, Sam Barber, and Jenna Paulette. His work has been featured in American Songwriter, Whiskey Riff, and on Ross Golan’s podcast And the Demo Is…
On October 10, 2025, Bowen released his sophomore album Appalachia Forever, featuring collaborations with Charles Wesley Godwin, Madison Hughes, Josiah and the Bonnevilles, Leon Majcen, and Julia DiGrazia. The release launched Bowen’s first national headlining tour while also bringing him to stages as direct support for Whiskey Myers, Dwight Yoakam (7 shows), NEEDTOBREATHE (9 shows on The Barely Elegant Acoustic Tour), Sam Burchfield, and Kashus Culpepper.
