The music of theSHIFT is a kind of transcendental rock n roll because it has the power to wake your senses while taking your mind elsewhere. Shannon’s vocals can seem the soft whispers of some rogue angel at one moment and a righteous declaration at the other. His guitar playing is capable of creating worlds of tangible melodic landscapes or shattering worlds around him like a cosmic explosion. The rhythmic base and foundation of theSHIFT comes from bassist Benjamin Geis and drummer Matt Joe Lambert who, out of the world of live hip hop music, bring a heavy, present and crystalline ground made of deep poignant bass lines and explosive in-the-pocket drumming that has carried legendary hip hop acts such as Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick and Lifted Crew.
