“Three Strands is sort of his own Walden Pond, his cabin in the woods where he goes to break things down and get back to basics with a more stripped-down sound.” — Joe Ulrich WITF
“His soothing voice and talent with the guitar in “Brother James” promises a beautiful EP to look forward to.” — The Hook Journal
Three Strands began as creative outlet for Lancaster-Based singer/songwriter Sean Cox in January 2017 when he decided to develop a small collection of songs he had been writing into a new studio release. Due to their more delicate and narrative driven qualities, they fell outside the normal vibe of his then band “The Band of Rivals”. His debut EP is populated with tales of loss, love, redemption and the doubt that comes from finding a sense of purpose and meaning in a broken world. Sean’s lyrics draw heavily from classic literature by authors such as C.S Lewis, Aldous Huxley, John Steinbeck and Friederich Nitzsche. The EP ambitiously crosses many genre lines throughout it’s duration. Musically he draws from artists such as Amos Lee, Van Morrison, Josh Garrels and John Mark McMillan.
