Russ created his one man frontier band, which he dubs, the only full sized sounding band in Alaska that will fit inside a single engine plane. He plays 14 instruments, including harmonica, piano, bass and guitar, and busts out as many different instruments as he can travel with during shows.

Since 2005 Russ has been bringing his unique skill set and quick wit to the entertainment world all over the North American continent and overseas. A versatile and adaptive performer, Russ is ready for whatever the world has to throw at him and has played the shows to prove it. He has opened for and shared the stage with such great acts as Bill Maher, Primus, Victoria Vox, The Thin White Ukes, Michael Stevens, Raymond McClain, Manitoba Hal, Bosko and Honey, the Dead Sexies, the Rockerfellers, Juno Smile, The Denali Cooks, Sweating Honey, the Derrel Gleason Trio, the Hickoids, Big Lady Sue, Riff Johnson, and many more.

Over the last decade he has been honing his skills in subarctic interior Alaska where he lives without running water on the edge of civilization. He has become a regular in the frontier and has been spreading his passion for the ukulele where ever he goes around the globe. Not only is Russ a seasoned entertainer, he is definitely not just some guy playing songs, but he is also an experienced music instructor providing ukulele and songwriting clinics while on the road. There is nothing he enjoys more than inspiring others and sharing his knowledge of music.

Three years ago Russ created his one man frontier band which he dubs the only full sized sounding band in Alaska that will fit inside a single engine plane. Now not only armed with his vast experience as a solo performer he is now able to loop several instruments in real time with no prerecorded tracks. He is the whole band when the situation calls for it.

From private functions to headlining international festivals Russ has done the full gambit and is always looking forward to the next show, the new places the ukulele will take him, and most importantly the wonderful characters he gets to meet along the way.
