Urbaniak puts fire to the gasoline structure of the folk and bluegrass genres to witness what will temper and what will burn – “anything that makes it through the fire can come along – leave the ashes. Something else will need them for the growing.” Taking what’s left and putting it through fusion and rhythm changes makes up the lump of mountain-folk as a genre – the Mountain Folk then expand and deepen the sound helping it evolve and grow by locking in the fusion on the low end and filling in the melodic leads and vocal harmonies.
Wes Urbaniak has been touring on and off for the last decade, and now that the Mountain Folk has joined up, the group has been touring the nation with him sharing that Montana music they play. Plus, they’ve been playing all this music on custom Montana made instruments from Urbaniak’s shop. Nothing quite like it anywhere, and no better place for it to have come from.
The Mountain Folk are playing music from 6 of Urbaniak’s album, and are building inroads right now to record a new live album before fall sets in. Urbaniak is award-winning in several music categories, and together with the Mountain Folk, they are putting it down steady to produce great music.
The trio line up clicks together with Wes Urbaniak on lead vocal/guitar/mandolin/beatboxing, Mat Regele on harmonies/upright bass, and A.J. Sheble on (4 and 8 string) ukulele/harmonies.
